CHAIN DRIVEN PALLET HANDLING CONVEYOR

STRAIGHT TRACK

The 1500 Series Pallet Conveyor is manufactured in three inside frame widths as follows:

  • 862mm, when the 800mm dimension is the pallet width across the conveyor.
  • 1062mm, when the1000mm dimension is the pallet width across the conveyor.
  • 1262mm, when the 1200mm dimension is the pallet width across the conveyor.

The standard conveyor module length of 1.587 metres, The conveyor is of a 4mm thick steel box construction with integral side guides and fully enclosed ends. The drive and idler sides are of identical design allowing, with the use of double sprocketed rollers, the drive to be transferred from one side of the conveyor to the other to facilitate the drive motors to be mounted on both sides of the conveyor, if required.

Track frames are laser cut throughout their length at 158.75mm pitch to enable the fitting of sprocketed 76mm dia. (x 3.25mm*) rollers to width required. Shorter lengths, divisible by the pitch, can be supplied.

Drive to the rollers is obtained by inter-connecting roller sprockets with ½" pitch precision chain. By making a break with the inter-connecting chains, zoning facilities can be incorporated into the system. This design of conveyor is fully reversible.

Sprockets and chains are situated inside the box section structure which forms the required safety guarding.

Each track length is supplied complete with connecting chain to continue drive at joint position and all required fixing pins.

  • 76mm Dia. x 3.25mm self colour steel rollers fitted with 5/8" dia. spindles.

DRIVE UNIT

Each module is powered by a 0.55 kW. flanged mounted S.E.W. geared motor unit which will convey 1.5 tonnes/ metre* at a maximum speed of 10 metres per minute and comes in three standard widths:

862mm, 1062mm, and 1262mm.

Additional drives can be added to introduce zoning for 'non-contact' accumulation and singulation etc.

The drive unit comprises of a flange mounted geared motor, which can be mounted virtually in any position to suit customer requirements. The unit is mounted to the side section via the gearbox flange with 4 off securing pins. Drive to the rollers is achieved by extension shaft fitted with ½" double simple sprocket with chains to roller sprockets.

As standard geared motors are of S.E.W. Eurodrive manufacture, with incoming 3 phase supply, power rating (kW.), will be selected for application required.

  • 1.5 tonne/metre using good quality pallets. De-rated to 1.2 tonne/metre if pallets are not in good condition.

TURNTABLE

The turntable comprises of a 1428mm long straight section, either 1062 or 1232mm wide, having rollers at each end reduced in length to assist the transfer of product from turntable to fixed conveyors. The conveyor section incorporates a side mounted 0.37 kW. drive unit.

This conveyor section is mounted onto a 0.25 kW. motorized slewing ring which can rotate through any angle, but the standard design allows for angles of 90º and 180º. The complete unit is supported on a fabricated framework having screw type leveling adjustment to allow for any floor undulation.

Minimum top of roller height being 490mm

SUPPORT STANDS

Support stands are fabricated from 100 x 50mm rectangular hollow section uprights and 40 x 40mm box section cross brace, with an adjustment of ± 40mm. A range of supports are available to give top of roller heights from 285mm (± 40mm) to 900mm (± 40mm).

Alternatively, the conveyor can be floor mounted to give a minimum top of roller height of 125mm. Depending on the condition of the floor to be mounted on packing pieces may be required, (not supplied).

Height and leveling facility is provided by articulated feet with 20mm threaded stem. When final height is set, holes in the base plate are used for floor fixing.

Support standards are positioned at each joint with an additional stand mounted centrally on a standard 2885mm long section.

Conveyor track to support stand connecting bolt sets are supplied, but not floor fixing bolts.

TRANSFER CAR

Transfer cars are specifically designed for each application and can be supplied complete with a variety of safety devices.

FINISH

Paint Finish:
Conveyor frameworks are degreased, phosphated, powder coated and then stove enameled to Blue RAL 5010, White RAL 9010 or Yellow RAL 1021.

Roller Finish:
Tubes, bearings, sprockets and spindles are all self-colour mild steel.
